MOQ in glass packaging, answered plainly

Short, factual answers on minimum order quantity for custom glass jars and bottles - what MOQ means, how GlassPacker sets it, and how sampling works before you commit.

What does MOQ mean in glass packaging?

MOQ is the minimum order quantity - the smallest run a factory will schedule for one specification. In glass, MOQ exists because a furnace run, a mold change and a decoration setup all cost the same whether the run is short or long, so viable batch sizes start at a threshold rather than at one piece.

What is GlassPacker's MOQ?

1,000 pieces per size. Each capacity and silhouette is scheduled as its own run, so a 250 ml jar and a 500 ml jar each start at 1,000 pieces. The figure appears on every quotation, next to the sample window and the packed carton data.

Why is MOQ counted per size instead of per order?

Because production changes over per size: tooling, neck finish and fill volume define the run. Consolidating several sizes into one order-level MOQ would hide which line each batch occupies. Per-size MOQ keeps the production plan - and the unit price - honest for both sides.

Can I sample before committing to the MOQ?

Yes. Samples ship in 7-10 days on stock shapes, so you can validate fill volume, closure fit and label panel before the production run is scheduled. The sample stage is where color, embossing and closure choices get approved.
